Welcome,
I'm Emma
My name is Emma Schultz. I'm an Education Management Professional with an MA in International Education Management from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies. I have extensive experience in International Education Management, English as a Foreign Language Instruction, and demonstrated leadership and customer service skills. I am passionate about delivering exceptional management support to provide quality education opportunities to students.
ABOUT ME
I was born in New York City but raised in Texas from the age of six, and that's where I call home. I went out of state to get my bachelor's degree in Anthropology at Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. My background in anthropology has shaped who I am today. During my time at Dickinson I was very fortunate to study abroad twice - once in Tanzania doing ethnographic research with the Anthropology department and later on the DIS program in Copenhagen, Denmark for an academic year.
When I graduated in 2016 I got my TEFL certification through CIEE and went right back abroad, this time to Madrid, Spain. I spent three years there teaching English, interning with the Association of American Programs in Spain (APUNE), and studying Spanish.
In the summer of 2019, I moved back stateside to pursue a master's degree in International Education Management at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies in Monterey, California. I finished my degree working as the Assistant Program Coordinator at the Middlebury School in Spain.
Now, I work as a Program Coordinator in Education Abroad at The University of Texas at Austin, helping students go abroad all over the world.
I hope to build a meaningful career in the fields of education management and international education with a focus on experiential and continuing education, language learning, and education abroad. I am especially passionate about advising, management, optimizing processes/workflows, and increasing access to educational opportunities for all.
